High Builds
Liquitex Super Heavy Body Acrylic is perfect for applications that call for high textural relief. Due to its super heavy body, the paint application will retain its shape while drying. A very high resin solids content means little to no shrinkage as the paint dries, retaining the volume of paint applied.

Using Liquitex Super Heavy Body Acrylic you can

build up height and dimension in multicolored layers.
build up height and dimension in premixed layers.
build up high sculptural shaped layers using large painting knives.

Decorative Motifs
Liquitex Super Heavy Body Acrylic can be loaded into inexpensive pastry bags and squeezed through shaped tips. The body of the paint will retain the shape perfectly as it dries.

Using Liquitex Super Heavy Body Acrylic you can:

apply paint shaped paint to painting, mixed-media pieces and sculpture.
apply paint shaped paint decoratively to fabrics and shoes.
apply paint shaped paint decoratively to furniture and craft projects.
use in faux finishing and apply shaped paint decoratively to walls, molding and curtains.
embed paint with found objects, decorative or collage elements.

Viscosity Play
Liquitex Super Heavy Body Acrylic can be applied to a surface and while wet, thinner body paints such as Liquitex Heavy Body and Soft Body can be applied over the top. Due to the extreme thickness of SHB, thinner paints can be applied without disturbing lower layers. Using textural tools and rakes, designs and patterns can be inscribed into the layers at different levels.

Using Liquitex Super Heavy Body Acrylic you can
apply thinner paints on top, while wet.
inscribe patterns and designs into the wet layers.
intermix thickness layers to establish patterns unavailable through other techniques.
apply Soft Body Acrylic on top in a drizzle or drip fashion.

Dry Apply
Liquitex Super Heavy Body Acrylic can be applied to a wax or palette paper and let dry. Due to its heavy body, you can peel off dry layers and apply them directly to a canvas, hardboard, mixed media work or sculpture. Use Liquitex Super Heavy Body Gel as an adhesive for attaching dry layers of SHB.

Using Liquitex Super Heavy Body Acrylic you can:

apply SHB to wax or palette paper, let dry and peel off.
apply as is or cut into strips, roll, manipulate into a 3-dimensional form.
weave, sew, staple or attach with Liquitex Super Heavy Gel.

General Characteristics of quality artist acrylics

Water soluble colors while wet.
Permanent, water insoluble, flexible colors when dry. Built up surfaces will remain free of cracks and chips. Less flexible in cold weather. Softer in warm weather.
Air-dry by evaporation. Thick paint films may take up to 3 days.
Surface of a dry acrylic painting can be cleaned by gently washing with soap and water.
Keep brushes wet. Clean up brushes, hands and palette with soap and water.
Little odor, no fumes, nonflammable. Uses non-toxic thinners and mediums.
Do not mix with turpentine or oils. Mix only with other acrylic emulsion paints or mediums.

Cleanup of Acrylic Paints

From hands: Wet or dried acrylic paint cleans with soap and water.
From brushes: Clean wet brushes with soap & water. Clean dried acrylic brushes with acetone, denatured alcohol or equivalent product. These cleaning solutions are toxic. Care should be taken during use.
From clothing: While paint is wet, clean with water and/or window cleaner. Dried acrylic paint is permanent on fabric.
From painting surface: While paint is wet, wipe with damp rag, clean with water. When paint is dry, simply paint over surface with desired colors and motif.
