My latest installation SHOE STORE at the Abrons Art Center, NYC, included pumps, loafers, hand bags made from oak tag, all in a gel-thickened acrylic environment, embellished with icing like squiggles in mouthwatering colors. There's even a chair to sit on while you find a fit. Is it a chair or a cake?" I would to challenge viewers notion of everyday objects and activities."
Ms. Cecere's work has been published and reviewed in many books and periodicals, The New York Times, Newsday, The village voice, Art in America and New York Magazine. In addition, she is represented in many private and public collections, NY Health and Hospitals, Rubell Family, Best products, Hunt Manufacturing and AT&T.
