I work intuitively, directly on the final piece, no sketches involved, more like an impression of an idea. I let the composition and formal techniques of juxtapositions guide me along the way. The process is the result of shaping an associative narrative form. I try to involve juxtapositions in a balancing act exploring tensions between labored and fleeting, naive and formal, repulsion and fascination. I allow room for the contradictions to come to the surface.

I craft an emotional otherworldly landscape complete with elements to illicit feelings of the familiar. They are like words to form sentences, and sentences to stories of a personal history. I give myself the opportunity to labor one moment on an idea in a given piece and obliterate it entirely the next. I do not feel compelled to make statements with the images, only to allow the viewer to fill in the blanks in an open ended story.
