Karen Guzak is a painter, printmaker and public artist, showing her work at Foster White Gallery and Davidson Galleries. She has been very active in the NW art scene as a member of the board of Artist Trust and as the developer of Sunny Arms and Union Art Artist Cooperatives.

Karen studied science at the University of Colorado, art at Cornish College, and has exhibited extensively throughout the US and abroad. She balances her time between her public art work commissions and her studio work as a painter and printmaker.

Very active in Northwest arts projects, she is currently the project artist and part of the design team for a series of artworks for the NE 40th Street Overlake Transit Center Park and Ride http://www.soundtransit.org/stplans/eastling/overlake/Overlake.htm

The primary focus of Karen's studio work is painting, but she is also well known as a printmaker, integrating computer drawn images with traditional printmaking methods and materials. She shows her paintings at Foster White Gallery in Seattle and Laura Russo Gallery in Portland. Her prints can be seen at Davidson Galleries in Seattle.

In addition, Karen has been a developer of two warehouse renovations converted to artist’s live/work spaces: Sunny Arms Artist Cooperative, where she lives and works and Union Art Cooperative developed with Lois Graham. She is currently an active member, serving as President for three years, of the Board of Artist Trust – an organization that supports individual artists of all disciplines in Washington State.
