Caz was born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1965 and completed a three year Art major at Wellington College of Education. Before becoming a full-time artist she was a teacher and specialized in teaching Art to both children and adults using a variety of media. Her work is recognized for it's vibrant use of color and texture. Caz strives to portray the landscape as a rich interplay of color, pattern and rhythm. Some of her work is directly inspired by the environment she lives in, while others depict her travels in Europe and the Pacific Islands. The current series, "Pacifica" reflects her affinity for the native plants of coastal New Zealand, and celebrates the iconic value that people from all countries have for their native flora. It also describes the special bond that New Zealanders, as 'island dwellers' have for the Ocean. Caz Novak’s work can be found in private collections in New Zealand, Australia, United States, Europe and the U.K. She has been selected to exhibit at this year’s The International Biennale of Contemporary Art in Florence, Italy.
