Artist Statement:
I expect that my paintings can reveal some kind of dysfunction in viewers' thinking process. Because I do not take either a positive or negative side toward each painting's subject, the viewers may find it difficult to discover the true subject of my work, they must construct the meaning of work based on their interaction with the images in my painting. Though I never represent my affirmation/negation in paintings, each response of the viewer is, I think, a fair. Each idea must be come from his/her own experience, prejudice and expectation. Such a result is the distilled form from his/her thinking process. Therefore, each result becomes the reflection of his/her self, and this approach can encourage psychological growth in the observer. My paintings are meant to stimulate the viewers' conceptual awareness, in taking a neutral position in my painting, and I always intend to affect the viewers' experience as little as possible. I expect the viewers to respond to their own very personal experience of what I have set out.
