I draw my inspiration from the changing environments in which I travel. Using land or skyscapes as points of departure, I abstract and invent forms and shapes to convey energy and movement. The pulses, sounds, colors, and rhythms become the theme. I look for new ways to convey physical & spiritual sensations in paint. Luminous color is integral to my abstract compositions. The mixed media and acrylic paintings are process oriented. I begin my paintings by superimposing many layers of images to create an abstract language of color, shape and form. References to ancient cultures are overlaid with natural and geometric forms. The images are put together in a dreamlike sequence to reinforce the reality of a metaphysical world. Forces of nature (energy) and the mysterious inner life of mankind are themes that have been constant in my work.
