Griffin Gallery Hosts Liquitex Acrylic Painting Prize

Wednesday 22nd July sees the Private View and prize giving for the Griffin Gallery Open at West London’s Griffin Gallery.

Open to all artists aged over 18 and working primarily in painting and drawing, the judges have selected 36 artworks for exhibition including work from as far away as Japan.

The Griffin Gallery Open hosts the Liquitex Acrylic Painting Prize, which received over 800 applications from around the world. One artist will win the prize, including £1,000 cash and £3,000 in Liquitex art materials - learn more about them here.

On the judging panel are painter Ian Davenport, Saatchi Gallery CEO Nigel Hurst and Griffin Gallery Director Becca Pelly-Fry. The aim of their selection was to reward innovation, skill and commitment to practice.

Particularly strong was the abstract work submitted and below is a selection of artworks in competition for the Liquitex Acrylic Painting Prize:

The Griffin Gallery Open exhibition is open to the public and runs from 23 July – 21 August 2015 at: Griffin Gallery, 21 Evesham Street, London W11 4AJ.
