MORE INFO
What it does
- Extends the open time of your color/medium by 40% so it is blendable and workable for longer
- Increases transparency
- Gives softer edges and great color blends
- Extends your color further without affecting acrylic stability
- Lowers viscosity of heavier body paints, giving increased flow
- Increases surface gloss, color depth and transparency
- Maintains paint adhesion, durability and archival quality
- Ideal for dry and hot climates
How to use it
- Fully intermixable with all Liquitex products
- Can be thined by diluting with up to 25% water - distilled water will give best results
- Mix as much as you like into acrylic color/medium to create the viscosity and transparency you want - the more you add, the thinner and more transparent your color will become
- Stir gently to avoid creating foam - if bubbles appear, leave it to sit while the bubbles rise and disappear
- If you're working over a long period of time, mix into color on the palette to keep it fresh and skin-free for longer
- This is semi-opaque when wet, transparent when dry
- To fix pastel, graphite or chalk, mix 1 part medium to 1 part distilled water and apply with an atomizer or airbrush
How not to use it
- Do not shake or vigorously over-brush as this can result in a foggy, hazy look when dry
- Do not use with any non-acrylic media

Yes, we make four professional formulas to slow the drying rate down, which are perfect for warm climates. They each have their own benefits - take a look on their product pages. -
Add a little of Liquitex Slow-Dri Medium or Gel to your paint to slow the drying and to help you with blending on the painting surface. You can also experiment with glazing techniques with Glazing Medium. -
They are still here. We have just changed the titles a little to make the difference between the Liquitex Slow-dri mediums and additives clearer. All of the Liquitex Slow-dri formulas work well for better blending, by giving your paint a longer open time, but by titling them as a fluid, a gel or an additive, it makes it easier to see what you are getting - an additive without any acrylic resins, or a medium with resins. This helps you to decide what type of formula to choose.
