Founded in 2011, Fire Island Artist Residency is the world’s first LGBTQ+ creative residency. The non-profit organization brings LGBTQIA+ identifying artists, poets and scholars to the New York island to take part in a four week summer creative program. In 2021, we donated 100% of the net proceeds from our online store across Pride month to support the residency.

Each summer, a number of creatives are funded by Fire Island Artist Residency to live, work and join the artistic community of Fire Island’s Cherry Grove. The program aims to bring emerging talent together with established professionals to foster the
creation and preservation of queer artmaking.
