LIQUITEX RESIDENCY PROGRAM
OUR LATEST RESIDENCIES
We are proud to offer an International Residency Program, hosting artist residency opportunities in studios around the world. Our latest Just Imagine residency series is offered at the Liquitex Studio in Manufacturer’s Village, East Orange, NJ. Artists have the chance to further their practice, experience a variety of mentorship and coaching classes, host an open studio and experiment with new materials including the full Liquitex range.
Take a look at our previous residencies in London at the Elephant Lab Studios (previously called Griffin Gallery Studios), situated alongside the Liquitex Innovation & Development Laboratory, as well as residencies in the US partnering with Residency Unlimited in New York City and Minnesota Street Project in San Francisco. Keep checking back to see who we are working with.

HOW IT ALL STARTED
In 1956, before creating art that ended up in the permanent collections of institutions like the Guggenheim and the MoMA, artist Garo Antreasian was working on a series of historical murals in what was then called the ‘Men’s Quad’ at Indiana University. Liquitex inventor Henry Levison visited Garo and recognized that there was an opportunity to explore how his newly created acrylic emulsions would perform on a large scale. The result was the first public use of water-based acrylics anywhere in the world. It was our first collaboration and it started a culture of working hand-in-hand with artists to support their practice and help us to develop new materials to meet their needs. Exchanging ideas, observing methods and gathering feedback is how we have been able to create and shape the world’s finest artists acrylics ever since. We now run a collaboration programme with artists around the world. From residencies to studio visits, special projects to education, we are committed to supporting you at all stages of your career. And in case you’re interested, the Indiana University murals are still in place and in excellent condition, in what’s now called the Wright Residence Hall.
